Overview
This article explains the creation of advertisers and agencies. Creating these is part of the first administration steps when you start working with Equativ.
Create advertiser
Creating an advertiser is required to be able to create campaigns and insertions.
In the context of direct campaigns, advertisers represent the brand whose ads are served on publisher websites.
In the context of programmatic monetization, the advertiser (as created in Equativ's UI) is not the actual advertiser, but you still must create one to be able to then create RTB campaigns and RTB insertions.
To create an advertiser, go to Administration > Advertisers and click + New advertiser.

The following table explains each field or option:
Field or option | Description |
---|
Advertiser group | The user group the advertiser is associated with. You can grant user access to the advertisers associated with this user group. For more information, see User management. |
Name | The advertiser name |
Description | A description of the advertiser |
Salesperson | The salesperson responsible for this advertiser, available as a filter/column in reports and in the campaign list. The salesperson defined on advertiser level is attributed to newly created campaigns only. If you change the Salesperson on advertiser level, the change will not be applied to the campaigns created previously for this advertiser. |
Traffic manager | The traffic manager responsible for the campaign management for this advertiser, available as a filter/column in reports and in the campaign list. The traffic manager defined on advertiser level is attributed to newly created campaigns only. If you change the traffic manager on advertiser level, the change will not be applied to the campaigns created previously for this advertiser. |
Agencies | The agencies the advertiser is associated with. Select Direct Advertiser for direct business relationships. Optionally, select the agencies that manage the advertiser's campaigns. |
Address | The advertiser's business address. |
Blocklisted domain list | The domains on which the advertiser's campaigns must not be displayed. Blocklisting on the advertiser/insertion level requires activation. Reach out to your service contact to have it enabled. The uploaded domain list must be a csv file with domains separated by a comma, semicolon, or a new line. The domains must follow the format www.domain.com or subdomain.domain.com. The domains must match exactly with the publisher domains where Equativ's ad tags are located. Additionally, you can blocklist or allowlist domains on the insertion level. For more information, see Insertions: Targeting. If the same domain is blocklisted on advertiser level and allowlisted on insertion level, the setting on advertiser level has priority: the domain is considered as blocklisted. |
Contact | The name, phone number, and email address of the advertiser. |
In-house Ad | If this option is activated, all insertions of this advertiser will be in-house insertions. You cannot change this setting once you have saved the advertiser. In-house insertions are used to show ads for the publisher's products or content. The CPM based tech fee to be paid by the client to Equativ may be less than the one for regular insertions, depending on the contract. Restrictions in in-house insertions include the following:
- Only the priority levels Low and Non-guaranteed are available.
- The upload of creative files in insertions is not possible. Instead, you can define the path (URL) of the creative hosted on an external server. For more information, see Configuring creatives.
|
Advanced > Logo | A logo file sized at maximum 316px * 60px. |
Advanced > Excluded sites and pages | The sites and pages to be hidden to traffic managers so they cannot be selected in insertions for this advertiser. If you do not want to use this feature, do not move any sites or pages to the Excluded placements section. |
Advanced > Optimization options | Optimization options applied to the insertions under this advertiser. For more information, see Creative optimization. |
